Testing & Condition Standards

Every unit we list has been powered on, tested, and inspected before it goes up.
Here's what that means and what we tell you about it:

What We Test

Every deck gets checked for power-on, display function, disc read where applicable, all button and knob operation, and audio output through every channel. If a unit has Bluetooth added, that gets tested too, paired and played through before it goes live to you.

What we tell you

Condition is described as we found it, not as we hope you'll read it. Every listing includes photos of the actual unit you'll receive, not stock images. Scratches, worn buttons, faded displays, and any cosmetic wear are shown in the photos and called out in the description.

If something doesn't work, we say so. If something works but not perfectly, we say that too.

What We Don't do

We don't refurbish displays or replace faceplates to make a unit look newer than it is. These are used decks from the 90s and 2000s, and part of what makes them worth having is that they're original. Wear is expected. Hidden problems aren't.

A note on Japanese-market units

Most of what we carry came out of Japan, which means the FM tuner operates on the Japanese radio band. It won't pick up US FM stations without a band expander. This is called out on every listing it applies to.
